Workday Wednesday - Scott Jackson

In-person school is canceled for today, Wednesday, February 19th due to inclement weather and temperatures. Today will be taken as an E-Learning Day and teachers will be available via email if there are any questions about your assignments. Please keep safe and warm, and have a good day everyone! 🥶

Congratulations to our PAWS Award winners! This month's focus word was empathy. These students were selected for their kindness and awareness of others as they go about their day. Thank you for making Breese Elementary a brighter, more caring place! 💜

In middle school science, we made our own "snow day"! 6th grade made snowglobes.
They learned how water bonds with acrylic paint, how water does not mix with oil, and how sodium bicarbonate causes the swirling action without any shaking/stirring.
5th grade made "snow" that smelled amazing and didn't freeze our hands. Then, they wrote material lists, procedures, and observations for the lab.

Valentine's Dress Up Day! Thursday, February 13th!🩷

Workday Wednesday - Melissa Gustafson

Making our own "snow day" in middle school science.
6th grade made snow globes while learning how paint bonds to water, water and oil don't mix, and how sodium bicarbonate activates the swirling motion without any shaking/stirring. 5th grade made snow and then wrote out their material lists, procedures, and observations following the lab. We decided our snow smelled amazing and didn't freeze our hands like real snow.

Due to the forecast of sleet and freezing rain in our region tomorrow, we have made the decision to cancel in-person school for tomorrow, Wednesday, February 12, 2025. Tomorrow will be taken as an E-Learning Day for District 12. This decision will ensure that our students, staff, and families will not be forced into potentially unsafe conditions on the roads. E-Learning expectations have been reviewed by teachers and they will also be available via email tomorrow if there are any questions about your assignments.
Please stay safe and remember, it’s always a great day to be a Bobcat!
